Valentine's Theme Results
Okay, it's a little later than we planned to have them, but we are ready to announce the results of our Valentine's Day Theme!
We had a lot of entries for this theme, and they were all very good so it was hard for us to come to a decision. But we picked what we felt were the best of the best, and here they are:
In third place we have "Always Meant to Be", a short series by Angelonight. This series was well-written with a solid story, and was a good tale at a manageable length.
In second place we have "A Force Greater Than Time", a collaboration by Shattered Silence and Shiguya. This story was an interesting tribute to the film "Groundhog Day", and was a rather humorous addition to the story listing here at AGNPH. Both well-written and well-plotted out, the story was a compelling read that did not disappoint in the least.
In first place is Miralage's "An Electrifying Valentines". This story was at times sweet, heartbreaking, and passionate. It told the story of a love that grows gradually, through hardship, and evolves into something both innocent and worldly. It was the clear winner in this theme, and was beautifully written.
Congratulations to our top three, and thanks to everyone who made this theme our best yet! Stay tuned for our next theme...once we decide what it will be. :P

Contest is Closed
Just to avoid any more confusion, the Valentine's Contest is CLOSED for new submissions as of the posting of this news entry. We've got ten great submissions, and the two-day extension has passed. As such we are closing the entries.
Much appreciation to everyone who entered, and a special nod to those who got their stories in before Valentine's Day itself. We should have our decision before the week is out.
Cheers!

Contest Extension
Due to the nature of Valentines Day, and the goings on of life. Most our Admin are away or unable to participate in the voting for the fics.
In normal circumstances we would be voting anywhere from three to five days from now.
However, as we have all been swamped or just plain busy. We've not had the time to go over and read these fics and do them proper justice.
Therefore, we shall be extending the contest a further two days to compensate for this loss of time. Both to give us more time, and to give you more time for entries or to polish entries you may have not entered as of yet.
Thank you for your patience and best of luck with your entries. ~Proteus

Frantic
Tick, tick, tick, tock. Febuary 14 is right around the corner, so for those still entering (or considering entering) now's the time to kick it into high gear and get writing! We've had a great turnout so far, with at least a half dozen solid entries, but enough is never enough (unless it's chocolate, then you're best to stop after the fifth box). Hell, at this rate we may keep pushing the record for most entries for a contest... which is a great encouragement.

Love is in the Air
Alright, folks. It's been 2010 for a good two weeks, now, so it strikes me that it's time to officially kick it off with our first theme of the new year!
Seeing as Valentine's Day is right around the corner, it's only right that our first theme be one of love! So, naturally, the next theme is going to be "Valentine's Day"! What does the theme involve, you ask? It's simple enough: just write a story that has something to do with Valentine's Day (and of course, Pokemon, as well). Submissions will be due by:
DEADLINE: 12:00AM EST on FEBRUARY 14, 2010
For the sanity of our admin staff, please label your stories with "Valentine's Day 2010 Submission" in the story summary (so that we don't get mixed up with submissions from last year's theme). And, as always, we encourage you to submit early. Please don't wait until the last minute to submit if you finish before the deadline, as we like to have everything read in a timely manner so we can make our decision in a timely manner!
And a few notes that bear repeating:
1) Make sure all of your stories are accompanied by a disclaimer somewhere in the STORY NOTES section. If your story is a multi-chapter story, the disclaimer only needs to be made for the entire story, and not for each individual chapter. Feel free to copy+paste the sample disclaimer that can be found by scrolling to the very bottom of every page in the /fics section; it is more than adequate for use with all submissions here.
2) Please, please, please use proper spacing in your stories, especially when you submit for a theme or contest. Walls of text are nearly impossible to read, and if you submit a wall of text for a theme or contest, I guarantee it will not even be considered in judging and may be subject to removal. Likewise, if you submit a story that is unrelated to a theme or contest as a wall of text, we also reserve the right to remove the story (after a suitable warning has been issued to you).
On a related note, please make sure that the email address you used to sign up to this site is still valid and working. Unless you have posted other contact information on your bio page, it is the only way we have to contact you if there is an issue with your stories. To change the email address that the "Contact" link on your bio page sends to, go to "Account Info" on the sidebar to the left and click on "Edit Bio". You can change the email contact there to anything you wish, but PLEASE make sure it's a valid one. This goes for regular members as well as authors. We are not responsible for any mistakes that may occur because you (the user) did not provide accurate contact information.
Thanks for sticking through that bear of a news post if you made it all the way here! And good luck to everyone who enters the theme!
